MODULE 02 · ASSET & DEVICE VISIBILITY

Asset & device visibility

Where every asset that matters is, what state it is in and who holds it — from invisible to visible.

THE PROBLEM

Everything is on site,
but nobody can say where

This layer covers more than our own communications equipment: tools, instruments, vehicles and mobile assets the customer owns can all appear on the same map with their position and state, as soon as they are connected.

The equipment register is in a spreadsheet, the equipment is on site, and the two do not reconcile
How many radios were issued, who holds them and how much charge is left is anyone’s guess
A shared tool is borrowed and disappears — finding it takes half a day
Whether there is a spare in the charging cabinet can only be answered by walking over to look

HOW A DEVICE BECOMES VISIBLE

How a device becomes visible

1
Terminal enrolled

A terminal or tag joins the platform and takes a unique identity.

2
Positioned automatically

Satellite outdoors, Bluetooth indoors — position reports continuously.

3
Shown on the map

The device appears on the right floor and in the right zone.

4
State synced

Online, battery, charging and faults update live.

5
Exceptions alarmed

Going offline, low battery or leaving a set area raises an alert.

6
History searchable

Position and state leave a trace that can be reviewed at any time.

SYSTEM HEALTH & TOPOLOGY

Whether the system is healthy, in one score

A health score quantifies system state live; master units, remote units, antennas and beacons are all monitored online, with optical path, ALC and VSWR alarms resolved down to a specific device; the topology view shows link relationships and where a fault sits.

0–100
A system health score, warning ahead of a fault rather than after it.
End to end
Base stations, optical remotes, antennas, beacons and terminal batteries monitored together.
1–4 units
Live telemetry compared across any selection, so diagnosis is not guesswork.
TERMINAL SECURITY

A lost radio,
removed from the network in one action

When a terminal is lost or a worker leaves, a remote disable takes it off the network immediately — and a remote enable restores it once recovered. Commands to offline terminals are retried automatically (every 15 seconds, up to 5 times), and flagged for retry if all attempts fail.

Remote disable and enable: issued and executed, retried automatically when offline, with the whole plan visible
Device allow-list: identifies cloned terminals and unregistered devices, alerting live on unauthorised calls
Audit trail: every remote command and its result can be audited
DATA PRODUCED

What data this layer produces

Device position

The zone and coordinate each asset is currently in.

State history

How online status, battery, charging and faults changed over time.

Custody

The current relationship between a device and the person holding it.

Alarm events

A complete record of offline, low battery, geofence and unauthorised access events.

Asset register

Model, quantity and distribution, forming a searchable record.

Asset position and state data are where exception detection and task dispatch begin.

Repeaters, smart antennas and radios on the system.

The platform shows the last known location of a missing radio so it can be found quickly.

Alarms appear in NetFlex with device location and can be sent to responsible staff.

Yes. Lifecycle records keep alarms, maintenance and replacements per device.
