DISTRINET FIBER TRANSPORT

Optical master / remote units

OMU / ORU

The optical master unit converts the signal to light and sends it down the fibre; the optical remote unit recovers and amplifies it — fibre in place of RF cable, and the transport backbone of DistriNET distributed coverage. Four series cover different scales and environments, from smart analogue through digital IF, and from rack mount to outdoor wall mount.

Smart optical master / remote unit

SMART LT SERIES

The Smart LT series adds intelligent monitoring, giving the user a faster route to deployment and a simpler operating procedure, and the contractor a more efficient commissioning process and an easier maintenance model. It covers long-distance two-way radio coverage, and lets maintenance staff without full system knowledge manage the equipment effectively in real time.

How it works

The smart optical master unit converts the electrical signal to light and sends it over fibre to the smart optical remote unit, which converts it back to RF and amplifies it. Long-distance optical transmission delivers coverage to remote indoor areas, and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) carries uplink and downlink on the same fibre. Comprehensive detection circuitry uploads data for remote management through the cloud platform.

The Optical Master Unit (OMU) sits at the signal source and converts RF to optical; Optical Remote Units (ORU) in each zone convert it back to RF for local antennas.

Up to 1:4 OMU-to-ORU ratio per master unit, and systems can be cascaded for larger sites.

Smart LT, digital intelligent, outdoor wall-mount and explosion-proof series.

Distance is limited by fiber loss and system delay, and is calculated per project during design.
